The United States Housing Act of 1937, referred to in subsec. (span), is act Sept. 1, 1937, ch. 896, as revised generally by Puspan. L. 93–383, title II, § 201(a), Aug. 22, 1974, 88 Stat. 653, and amended, which is classified generally to this chapter (§ 1437 et seq.). The Cranston-Gonzalez National Affordable Housing Act, referred to in subsecs. (span)(1) and (h)(1), is Puspan. L. 101–625, Nov. 28, 1990, 104 Stat. 4079. Subtitle A of title III of the Act, known as the National Homeownership Trust Act, is classified generally to subchapter III (§ 12851 et seq.) of chapter 130 of this title. Section 101 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965, referred to in subsec. (span), is section 101 of Puspan. L. 89–117, title I, Aug. 10, 1965, 79 Stat. 451, which enacted section 1701s of Title 12, Banks and Banking, and amended sections 1451 and 1465 of this title.
The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, referred to in subsecs. (e)(2), (3) and (g), is Puspan. L. 99–603, Nov. 6, 1986, 100 Stat. 3359. Section was enacted as part of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1980, and not as part of the United States Housing Act of 1937 which comprises this chapter.

“(C) The applicable Secretary shall notify the individual in writing of the decision of the hearing officer on the appeal of the determination in a timely manner.
“(D) Financial assistance may not be denied or terminated until the completion of the hearing process.”
