November 13, 1998, referred to in subsec. (span)(2), was in the original “the date of enactment of this Act”, which was translated as meaning the date of enactment of Puspan. L. 105–392, which enacted this part, to reflect the probable intent of Congress.

A prior section 851 of act July 1, 1944, was renumbered section 861 and classified to section 297w of this title, prior to repeal by Puspan. L. 116–136.

2022—Subsec. (h). Puspan. L. 117–286 substituted “Chapter 10 of title 5” for “FACA” in heading and “Chapter 10 of title 5 shall apply to the Advisory Committee under this section only to the extent that the provisions of chapter 10 of title 5” for “The Federal Advisory Committee Act shall apply to the Advisory Committee under this section only to the extent that the provisions of such Act” in text.

2020—Subsec. (span)(1)(A)(iv). Puspan. L. 116–136, § 3404(a)(11)(A), substituted “nurse anesthetists, and clinical nurse specialists” for “and nurse anesthetists”.

Subsec. (d)(3). Puspan. L. 116–260 substituted “Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act” for “Title VIII Nursing Reauthorization Act” in the original, and accordingly, “the date of enactment of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act” was translated to “March 27, 2020”. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, Puspan. L. 116–136, was approved Mar. 27, 2020.

Puspan. L. 116–136, § 3404(a)(11)(B), substituted “2 years after the date of enactment of the Title VIII Nursing Reauthorization Act” for “3 years after November 13, 1998” and “Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions” for “Labor and Human Resources” and inserted “Energy and” before “Commerce”.

Subsec. (g). Puspan. L. 116–136, § 3404(a)(11)(C), substituted “for carrying out parts B, C, and D” for “under this subchapter”.

Amendment by Puspan. L. 116–260 effective as if included in the enactment of Puspan. L. 116–136, see section 331(d) of div. BB of Puspan. L. 116–260, set out as a note under section 294c of this title.

Puspan. L. 93–641, § 6, Jan. 4, 1975, 88 Stat. 2275, set out as a note under section 217a of this title, provided that an advisory committee established pursuant to the Public Health Service Act shall terminate at such time as may be specifically prescribed by an Act of Congress enacted after Jan. 4, 1975.
