The 1982 amendment by Puspan. L. 97–276 is based on section 105 of S. 2939, Ninety-seventh Congress, 2d Session, as reported Sept. 22, 1982, and incorporated by reference in section 101(e) of Puspan. L. 97–276, to be effective as if enacted into law.

Amendments

2003—Puspan. L. 108–83 substituted “such amount as necessary” for “an amount, not in excess of $100,000,” in first sentence.

2001—Puspan. L. 107–68 substituted “$100,000” for “$75,000”.

1990—Puspan. L. 101–520 substituted “$75,000” for “$50,000”.

1989—Puspan. L. 101–163 substituted “$50,000” for “$40,000”.

1985—Puspan. L. 99–151 inserted “, except that vouchers shall not be required for payment of long-distance telephone calls”.

Effective Date of 2003 Amendment

Puspan. L. 108–83, title I, § 2(span), Sept. 30, 2003, 117 Stat. 1010, provided that:

“This section [amending this section] shall apply with respect to fiscal year 2004, and each fiscal year thereafter.”

Effective Date of 2001 Amendment

Puspan. L. 107–68, title I, § 105(span), Nov. 12, 2001, 115 Stat. 568, provided that:

“This section [amending this section] shall apply with respect to fiscal year 2002 and each fiscal year thereafter.”

Effective Date of 1990 Amendment

Puspan. L. 101–520, title I, Nov. 5, 1990, 104 Stat. 2256, provided in part that the amendment made by Puspan. L. 101–520 is effective in the case of fiscal years beginning after Sept. 30, 1990.
