The Social Security Act, referred to in subsec. (a), is act Aug. 14, 1935, ch. 531, 49 Stat. 620. Title II of the Act is classified generally to subchapter II (§ 401 et seq.) of chapter 7 of Title 42, The Public Health and Welfare. Subchapter A of chapter 9 and subchapter E of chapter 1, referred to in subsec. (a), probably mean subchapter A of chapter 9 and subchapter E of chapter 1, respectively, of the Internal Revenue Code of 1939, which were comprised of sections 1400 to 1432 and 480 to 482, respectively, and were repealed (subject to certain exceptions) by section 7851(a)(1)(A), (3) of Title 26, Internal Revenue Code of 1986.

Section 86 of part II of subchapter B of chapter 1 of the Internal Revenue Code, referred to in subsec. (a), probably means section 86 of part II of subchapter B of chapter 1 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, which is classified to section 86 of Title 26, Internal Revenue Code.
