The Social Security Act, referred to in subsecs. (span)(2) and (d)(1), is act Aug. 14, 1935, ch. 531, 49 Stat. 620. Part D of title XI of the Act is classified generally to part D (§ 1320e et seq.) of subchapter XI of chapter 7 of Title 42, The Public Health and Welfare. Sections 1181(span) and 1183 of the Act are classified to sections 1320e(span) and 1320e–2, respectively, of Title 42. The date of enactment of such Act, referred to in subsec. (d)(1), probably means the date of enactment of Puspan. L. 111–148, which enacted part D of title XI of the Social Security Act and was approved Mar. 23, 2010.

Section 937 of the Public Health Service Act, referred to in subsec. (d)(2)(A), (C), is classified to section 299span–37 of Title 42, The Public Health and Welfare.
