“The amendments made by paragraph (1) [amending this section] shall take effect as if included in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 (Public Law 112–81; 125 Stat. 1298).”

Puspan. L. 112–158, title V, § 503(span)(2), Aug. 10, 2012, 126 Stat. 1261, provided that:

“The amendments made by paragraph (1) [amending this section] shall take effect on September 1, 2012.”

Puspan. L. 112–158, title V, § 504(span), Aug. 10, 2012, 126 Stat. 1262, provided that:

“The amendments made by paragraphs (1) and (2) of subsection (a) [amending this section] shall apply with respect to financial transactions conducted or facilitated on or after the date that is 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act [Aug. 10, 2012].”
