1998—Subsec. (span)(3). Puspan. L. 105–277, § 1225(c)(1), redesignated par. (4) as (3) and struck out former par. (3) which read as follows: “The Director of the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency (or if the Director so designates, another officer of that Agency who was appointed with the advice and consent of the Senate).”

Effective Date of 2008 Amendment

Puspan. L. 110–315, title IX, § 921(span)(2), Aug. 14, 2008, 122 Stat. 3456, provided that:

“The amendments made by paragraph (1) [amending this section] shall take effect as if enacted on June 1, 2007, and shall apply to any member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Peace confirmed by the Senate and sworn in as a member of the Board of Directors on or after such date.”
