1998—Par. (1). Puspan. L. 105–244, which directed substitution of “section 1001” for “section 1141(a)” in section 803(1) of the Soviet-Eastern European Research and Training Act of 1983, was executed to this section, which is section 803 of the Research and Training for Eastern Europe and the Independent States of the Former Soviet Union Act of 1983, to reflect the probable intent of Congress, and the change in the short title of that Act. See section 801 of Puspan. L. 98–164, set out as a Short Title note under section 4501 of this title.

1993—Par. (2). Puspan. L. 103–199 substituted “Advisory Committee for Studies of Eastern Europe and the Independent States of the Former Soviet Union” for “Soviet-Eastern European Studies Advisory Committee”.
