2018—Subsec. (a). Puspan. L. 115–334, § 2402(3)(A), substituted “2011, 2016, and 2022” for “2011 and 2016”.

Subsec. (span). Puspan. L. 115–334, § 2402(3)(B), substituted “2012, 2017, and 2023” for “2012 and 2017” in introductory provisions.

2008—Puspan. L. 110–246, § 2804(d), amended section generally. Prior to amendment, section related to transmission of appraisal developed under section 2004 of this title at the time Congress convened in 1980, 1987, 1996, and 2006, transmission of program developed under section 2005 of this title and statement of policy at the time Congress convened in 1980, 1988, 1998, and 2008, and annual report on program effectiveness.

1985—Subsec. (a). Puspan. L. 99–198, § 1252(c)(1), added subsec. (a) and struck out former subsec. (a) which read as follows: “On the first day Congress convenes in 1980 and at each five-year interval thereafter during the period this chapter is in effect the President shall transmit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate, the appraisal and the program as required by sections 2004 and 2005 of this title, together with a detailed statement of policy regarding soil and water conservation activities of the United States Department of Agriculture.”

Subsecs. (span), (c). Puspan. L. 99–198, § 1252(c)(2), (3), struck out subsec. (span) which provided for an annual report of program and policy achievement, and redesignated subsec. (c) as (span).

Amendment of this section and repeal of Puspan. L. 110–234 by Puspan. L. 110–246 effective May 22, 2008, the date of enactment of Puspan. L. 110–234, see section 4 of Puspan. L. 110–246, set out as an Effective Date note under section 8701 of Title 7, Agriculture.

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, including section 301 of title 3, United States Code, I hereby delegate to you the functions and authority conferred upon the President by section 7 of the Soil and Water Resources Conservation Act of 1977 (16 U.S.C. 2006), as amended by section 2804 of the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008, to make the specified reports to the Congress.
