Effective Date of 2021 Amendment

Puspan. L. 117–2, title IX, § 9016(e), Mar. 11, 2021, 135 Stat. 120, provided that: “The amendments made by this section [amending this section] shall apply as if included in the enactment of the CARES Act (Public Law 116–136), except that no amount shall be payable by virtue of such amendments with respect to any week of unemployment ending on or before March 14, 2021.”

Effective Date of 2020 Amendment

Puspan. L. 116–260, div. N, title II, § 206(d), Dec. 27, 2020, 134 Stat. 1956, provided that:

“(1)In general.—Except as provided in paragraph (2), the amendments made by this section [amending this section] shall apply as if included in the enactment of the CARES Act (Public Law 116–136), except that no amount shall be payable by virtue of such amendments with respect to any week of unemployment commencing before the date of the enactment of this Act [Dec. 27, 2020].
“(2)Coordination rules.—The amendments made by subsection (c)(1) shall apply to individuals whose benefit years, as described in section 2107(span)(4)(A)(ii) of the CARES Act [15 U.S.C. 9025(span)(4)(A)(ii)], expire after the date of enactment of this Act.”
