2021—Subsec. (span)(7) to (11). Puspan. L. 116–283, § 1604(span)(1), added par. (7) and redesignated former pars. (7) to (10) as (8) to (11) (relating to the Secretaries of the military departments), respectively.

Subsec. (span)(12). Puspan. L. 117–81, § 1081(a)(27), redesignated par. (11), relating to such other officers of the Department of Defense as the Secretary may designate, as (12).

Subsec. (d)(2)(D) to (F). Puspan. L. 117–81, § 1604(1), added subpar. (D) and redesignated former subpars. (D) and (E) as (E) and (F), respectively.

Subsec. (f)(1), (2). Puspan. L. 116–283, § 1604(span)(2), substituted “Space Command” for “Strategic Command” in introductory provisions.
